Here is a 1967 Fender Coronado I marked “SPECIAL” in a naturally relic'ed sunburst finish with its factory vibrato and a non-original hard shell case.

The vibrato bar and the pickguard are missing, but otherwise the guitar is 100% original down to the last screw.

The aesthetic design of the Coronado represents a departure from previous Fender instruments, making Coronados an atypical piece of Fender history.

Apart from the obvious wear and patina, the guitar also has a few small scratches and nicks here and there, but nothing serious or worrying.

No doubt this guitar has been played a lot over the years, which is always a good sign! The heavy natural wear on the back of the neck makes it super smooth and a real dream to play.

· Maple top back and sides bound front and back (a real hollow body, not a central solid wood block like on the reissues!)
· Thin, C-shaped, bolt-on maple neck
· Rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays
· Original DeArmond pickup that sounds full and articulate with a very wide range of tones available depending on your playing and settings

The “SPECIAL” designation stamped on the back of the headstock indicates that this was a promotional guitar given to an artist to help promote the new model.

Not only do Coronado I's have their own, unique tonal character with great natural resonance and a bright, deep tone, they are also quite rare and collectible.

Since 60's Coronado I's don't come along very often (let alone in Europe...), you might want to think and act fast before you miss this opportunity ;)
